Am talking about the recent elections. You oly have to look at the televisions or turn on the radio or better still read a party manifest to know what I mean. They fore-shadow poverty, misery and more recently the problem in Sri Lanka have taken the fancy of everyone. When I first saw the commercial ‘add’ of one of those political party my reaction was one of horror. I didn’t know whether to laugh or shout at someone cause both were at full rush. It’s hilarious to see our national leaders posing and put artificial airs like a film star and the songs sure do add flavor. But more anger at the thought how much of our taxes, going down the drain in the name of funds. I know these things started in the last election itself but I thought it was a temporary craze which ill soon pass in time but this…
How much have we changed in the name of trends? Is all this necessary? Won’t straight truths do? Even in voting we are given with no choice. Your options are between two parties the others trudging behind like minions. We have to choose the better of worse. A few days back my friend and I were strolling down the street when we came upon an election rally. I was surprised by the number of youth participating in the rally, holding flags and banners. And they didn’t look poor either. You can say by looking at them they are doing it voluntarily oly. What’s the point I wonder? My friend answers “this answers your question a few days back”. The question was why can’t we create a yuva in reality? I was browsing the net just to know how many youth organizations are there in the city. I came with an astonishing number of youth idealists for broken causes or unwanted goals. This underlines one thing- there are number of youth out there working for a cause. Even though they are idealists worshipping one form of idol or other they were unable to synchronize their aims and thoughts in a productive way. There were many patriots among them too. Such a waste! If you enter a party with only ideals- I mean ONLY ideals then the best way u can start a career is by holding flags- this was the answer my friend was referring too. We don’t need to hold flags but the future economy of our country is in our hands. So how many of us are daring? Not me. I have my whole life in front of me. I am software engineer with a career to maintain. May be settle abroad to forget all the unacceptable happening in my country. Let the low class rot the way they do. Because am not a one man army. I can’t change a system. May be it needs a another peace revolution but who cares. this is after all India!
