Mylapore Festival

Every year the Tamil Nadu Tourism and culture organizes the Chennai Sangamam. A colorful fusion of country music and traditional music. This year I went with my family. It was marvelous. I went to the one that was hosted in Nageshwara Rao Park. We saw the tamil folk dance-drama. The speciality of such dances is that they involve story telling in elegant and natural style. I found that very entertaining and informative. This festive is also host to many south Indian delicacies like traditional chettinad items.

Closely following Chennai Sangamam is the Mylapore festival- an exclusive treat to the mylapor-iites. It’s a local event that is getting more and more popular every year. With set of volunteers from the local it hosts everything from food to accessories. Every corner of the Pitchupillai Street has an event for everyone. From engraving tattoos on your arms to experiencing hot traditional food one can have no more than a highly entertaining evening. After having a run at every stall we returned home tired but with huge satisfying smiles!
