Yesterday I went to yet another very famous event in the neighborhood. The car festival. I was coming from the office by bus. just outside my locality I could see throngs of people, in groups heading to Mylapore. It took me a while to understand that they are there to see the actual deity coming out of the temple after an year. Never have I realized the popularity of the event and to think that I have avoided going to the affair because of the crowd.
Usually in functions like this people donate things like food, toys and lot many distribute free drinks to suppress the heat of the day. I observe why is that all people find one day to give out of food. I mean so many who don't get a single morsel filled up to their tummy and many just plainly go waste. So what happens to these hapless beings for the reminder 364 days? Well, it will certainly be a long wait for another belly full..
