More authentication over phone banking

It’s a good move by the RBI to have asked all the banks to improve security over phone banking. It’s a general concern for most when we just have to give the account number or just the sixteen digit pin number for authentication. There must be more security especially for transactions like bill payment, balance enquiry etc. We observe that with the modern techniques many people do not go for the traditional banking ways.

With the new system the customer would now need to key in an additional password to go through the IVR. This will effectively put a check to the identity frauds that have become very common for banking through phones.

More time in hand..

I suddenly seem to find a lot of time at hand so here I am in a sudden spree of writing articles. You can expect a lot of posts in the coming months. Happy blogging..

India's Entrepreneurship

India's entrepreneurial journey is a few years behind China's own path, but the gap is narrowing.Like China, India has a growing number of startups with innovations designed to disrupt standards and help solve big problems in sectors including biomedical, clean technology, digital communications and e-commerce. The Silicon Valley culture of tech entrepreneurship and venture capital has been slower to take hold in India than in China.
India is undergoing its own surge in mobile communications, and much of the startup action is centered in this market. Already, India counts more than 500 million mobile phone subscribers, second only to China's approximate 700 million users.
The popularity of mobile has led to a swarm of startups relying on the cellphone as a business platform, from gaming companies Nazara, Games2Win, and Kreeda, to search firm Just Dial, to ring tones and advertising, inMobi.

Art called patience

Sometimes people just have to wait. Do what you can: ask for help, consolidate your steps, but in the end there is only so much even the gods can do. Accepting limitations is an important part of growth. Often we become stressed or agitated, as the chattering mind thinks that somehow this means you are “doing” something about it, something productive. It cannot abide relaxing, because it is convinced this means you are giving up. Indeed you are giving up - you are giving up the illusion of control. So relax. Be the calm in the eye of the storm.

Online Books

Online books are different to regular ebooks because they are available directly on Internet pages, as opposed to a download, for example a PDF file download or an outdated EXE format ebook. Ebooks are also sometimes distributed on a CD or DVD, usually to increase the perceived value of a product without adding much cost to the actual production value of the product itself. This offline distribution method was more common before the Internet became more prevalent.

Several large projects have appeared in the last few years which give people access to thousands of these books. Some of the largest archives include Allosia Online Books, Project Gutenberg, The Sacred Text Archive, and the project of the University of Pennsylvania.

Project Gutenberg describes itself as the first and largest collection, however new projects including Allosia Online Books approaches 250,000 texts, all available online. In many cases, companies including MSN help to digitize public text by sponsoring large digitization projects to make information available for free to everyone. This is generally done with content that exists in the public domain, including books which have expired copyright permission.

A major problem with online books is the inability to get them off the screen, so many people believe that they will never be able to truly compete with physical books.

Bowling for Beginners

New bowling alleys are popping up all the time and, the median age of bowlers is getting younger with every passing day. Lately it is not just the aging and the old that are taking to bowling as we are witness to most bowling alleys being occupied and dominated by a young and youthful crowd, because bowling is becoming a cool and hip sport to indulge in. It is always better to get your basics right before you start to compete, even for fun. Many bowlers never seem to get better at the game, though they might put in the effort.
The first bowling tip for a beginner is to remember that the sport is based on timing and hand-eye coordination, which means you got to choose the right ball that is easy enough for you to handle. The ball should be based on your height and size which means women should choose balls within the range of 8 – 15 pounds and for men, it should be between 14 – 16 pounds. Make sure that you have a ball you are comfortable with. It is not easy to find a ball which fits your fingers perfectly yet need to get a good release. A general tip is to choose the heaviest ball you can swing comfortably because it carries more momentum and might knock down a few more pins.
Probably the most important of the bowling tips for beginners is to have fun. Don’t get frustrated even if you don’t get it right; just go out there and have a good time bowling.
